The guard gives Gulak a formal nod and returns his attention to his duty of staring at nothing.
As Gulak follows the directions gradually more and more people are seen on the streets the closer he comes to The Vyne District. Once he is across the river the evening air is filled with the sound of merrymaking; song, music and laughter, they all seem to be no more than a few blocks away wherever he goes as he continues in to Vyne proper.
The people are loud and most more than a little drunk. No one pays much attention to Gulak save for the odd scantily clad woman giving him a wink and lifting her skirts to just above the knee.
After about fourty minutes brisk walk he reaches the end of his directions and before him is a square. It is a little larger than others he's passed. There is a large well in the centre with a big contruction over it for hoisting buckets. Around the square are tall buildings and many of the windows are open and a few people hanging out shouting and laughing loudly to eachother or at people on the ground but it all seems to be rather well-natured. The air is heavy with the smell of roast meat here and at the other end of the square there is a big stand, with a smouldering fire and what appears to be the remains of a big pig hanging over it. Around it is a crowd of people helping themselves to cuts of roast pork. Just over half of the pig is gone by now.
There are three establishments stretching their outside service along the entire square. They are all in tall yellowish orange houses which higher up seems to be mostly residental judging by laundry etc hanging out the windows save for the first which is a pale green. It is called the White Ship Hotel, it looks rather nice and has a big serving area flooding out on the square with many tables taken by a number of people drinking and eating. Another, named Old Bill which appears almost crammed full of people and the noise in there is very loud. The third has a sign hanging over it depicting a white deer but there is no name. It is also very busy and as it is closest to the roasting pig people are drawn to the outside almost more than inside. There is a fourth place here but it has no tables outside like the others and is almost covered up by the crowd from Old Bill. The building is a bit smaller than most others and has inlays of timber rather than just being of stone. It is a warm red in colour and has a sign in front depicting four glasses with one bigger one in front. The insides seems dimly lit with people inside. The evening air is nice though it is getting slightly chilly as it is still early in the year. There are a couple of dogs running around, chasing a scruffy grey cat.
On a white-painted plank nailed to a wall reads with black painted letters: [glow=white,2,300]MIATHAN SQUARE[/glow]
