In all honesty I think only a precious few know exactly what all of the little buttons above the posting window does. Sure you click on Bold to get the bold tags etc but I know I am still not friends with whatver features things like the little hash does and the tables and so on... so here it is. For all of those new to forum posting I thought I would try and explain those that I do know and leave place for the rest of you to maybe explain the rest to me...
You could also use this thread to post 'test messages' if you want to experiment with things. Though you might not need that since the Preview option below the posting window lets you play around quite a bit without actually posting. Besides, if all goes wrong there is the lovely Modify option for when that posted post just went wrong. How I love it (and sorely miss it when I play on CC and see all my typos ).
Anyway, here it is, tags and what they do (gaps for ones I don't know):
Bold (B)
Italics (I)
Underline (U)
Crossed out (S)
[glow=red,2,300]Glow (G) - for which you can change the colour by typing in a new colour where it says 'red' which is the default colour, see the colour guide[/glow]
[shadow=red,left,300]Shadow (S) - also change of colour option as above as well as option on what direction it will fall, default is red and left[/shadow]
Preformatted text - dunno thatone
Horizontal rule - dunno thatonoe
Font size - default is 2 which is normal size This is 1 (good for IC whispers ) This is 3
Font face, there is a huge list of font faces available I am going to post separately on these, default is Verdana, the one we all use most of the time. To change tou type in the name of a different one
Colour, self explanatory... choose a colour and type. Though there are more ones available than the list has... I'll post them soon.
Then there are several I don't know plus obvious linky ones and tags for putting pictures in where you just enter the url between the tags...
Superscript explains itself
Subscript also pretty obvious
Teletype
Code - yeah well... like I said... not friends with it.
List - dunno it
There it is... far from complte but feel free to help me out on the blank bits.
