[Elven] "The Fifth Glass, is all."
She shrugs and adjust her earrings a bit before she binds up her hair again with the yellow headkerchief. When the cart lurches forward, she shifts a bit, and some hay gets in her hair. She starts plucking it out again, letting whatever she pick out of her black locks just fly off in the breeze.

Violar mutters under his breath and looks at his hand, rubbing it a bit.
[Elven]"I think I'll pass on that. I'll meet you up afterwards."
Very bad singing came from the farmer, it seemed most of the words were forgotten but that didn't stop him.

The Minnow shakes her head.
[Elven] "I would prefer if we stayed together. Fardinn isn't a village. I'd feel safer if you were with me, and it won't take long, I promise."
She laughs softly at the farmer's singing, and starts bouncing around a bit to the tune, humming along cheerfully.

Violar gave her a look, one that was about equally as bothered as it was embarassed before he shook his head and looked away in the direction of the road behind them.
[Elven]"Fine. I'll wait outside when you do your thing."

The Minnow chuckles and starts singing along with the song, clapping her hands every time the farmer comes to a form of chorus. She happily hums the words he doesn't know, and bounces up and down in her hay-seat with enthusiasm. Her earrings dance along and before long she starts making up words that might go in between the ones that the farmer knows.

Violar keeps looking at the road, a bit disinterested and mostly quiet.
The farmer turns and looks at minnow as she begins to join in and he increasingly forget the tune and stumbles on words he already knew. He also seems to be blushing again.
Up ahead and a little way on the road splits in two. One carries on roughly straight ahead while the other soon turns generally Northeast. The fields around them are empty of people now and the only life roaming about them are birds, mostly crows sitting lazily on the odd weatherbeaten scarecrow.
The farmer cuts his song short after a series of stutters and turns to speak over his shoulder to Minnow.
"Like the song, did you?"

The Minnow turns and hangs over the back of the seat a bit, to bring herself more or less level with the farmer.
"Hmm mm! I liked it. Where did you get it? It's nice."
She looks around.
"Bit empty here, isn't it?"

The farmer is a bit surprised at seeing her appear next to him and he jumps a little aside and leans a bit away from her with an embarassed smile. His eyes flicker around a bit as if he doesn't quite know where to look.
"It- uh... My wife sings it. When she bakes, like." His blush grows a bit redder by the temples.
He looks around a bit and smiles a bit more comfortable with that subject.
"Yes, yes it is. That's why I take this road. It's nice and quiet. A bit further. But I don't mind. Me and Bella don't mind. I quite enjoy it. More than the destination anyway. Put it off as long as I can, y'know." He laughs a little and throws her a slightly unsure glance to see if she'd laugh too.

"Oh, that's nice! That sounds nice."
Minnow gives the man a big smile, and laughs when he does. She nods.
"Big city, Fardinn. I prefer the country, me. It's a nice ride, here, and you got a very nice horse."
She looks around to see how Violar is holding out.

The farmer gives her a smile and nods politely.
"Bella's good horse. Never any trouble. Not 'round me anyways." He looks at her proudly as she happilu gallops along looking enthusiastically around her.
Violar hasn't moved a muscle. He sits exacly like before, looking in the same direction with the same expression on his face.
"Whoa, lass, whoa."
The cart slows down as the farmer leans back holding in the hoprse, slowing her down to a trott and then a fast walking pace. They have reached the fork in the road and he steers her left on to the Northeastern one. As soon as they have straightened up he gently throws the heavy reins and has her in a trott again, causing the cart to jerk forwards.

"She looks fine."
Minnow laughs at her brother's stiffness, and she laughs at the happy horse. She goes "wheeeeeeeee" when the cart jerks again, and overall she is in a pretty good mood. Looking around, and seeing no one, she turns again and hangs over the back of the seat, her chin resting on her arms.
"You go to Fardinn often then?"

The farmer looks at her with an amused smile as she seems excited about going faster. With a happy smile and almost expecting look at Minnow he urges Bella on more and she sets off at a gallop.
"Aye. Once a week, sometimes twice. Depends a bit. You?"

The Minnow laughs and obligingly goes "wheeeeeeeee!" again. She laughs out loud and unties her headkerchief so that she can feel the wind go through her hair. She holds the yellow cloth in one hand.
"No, I've been there before, but that's been quite a while."
She spreads out her arms and goes "wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" again.

The farmers widened smile gives away that he's really quite pleased by the reaction he got from her. Indeed, he seems to pay a bit more attention to her than the road.
"Yeah? I guess when you folks say 'quite a while'you mean it too." He grins, but only briefly as he catches sight of something up ahead and suddenly frowns.
"What in the blooming-"
He slows Bella down to a trott and stands up to get a better view.
"The bridge. It's broken, I think. Yes. Yes, definitely broken."
He gives her a confused look as he thinks it over for another second and then looks ahead again. He sits down and slows the horse down.
A few hundred yards ahead is a small stone bridge over the Emdin river. It is a small bridge followed by a second small bridge that together bridge the full river where it has narrowed a bit and has a small patch of land in the middle. The first bridge has a gaping hole at the top and the second one looks better but still has a small bit missing in it. The river is running fast and the water is high up on the banks.
"Guess we ain't going this way after all. The farmer shakes his head and looks at the sky as he stops.

"That's odd."
The Minnow stands to get a better look at the bridges. She puts her hands on her hips, wonderfully resembling her mother, and shakes her head.
"Oy oy. I guess this road is too quiet for things like that to be quickly fixed. We'll have to turn and go around, I guess."
She hops over the side of the cart onto the road, and walks over to the horse to help it turn.
