-Name: Elanorîn
-Age: Exact age is unknown, mid 20’s
-Gender: Female
-Height: 5’9”
-Race: Human
-Class: Cleric 7
-Alignment: Neutral-Good
-Deity: Ilmater
-Appearance: Her long dark brown hair flows with only a slight wave to it to her lower back whenever she allows it to roam free to the wind rather than tie it up in her usual braid. It is thick and soft and should your senses be heightened you might catch the faintest scent of juniper that lingers among her strands though most would have to be allowed an intimate closeness to experience it. Her skin is pale though not abnormally so, but rather natural of someone who takes greater pleasure in a shady spot under a tree rather than on a sunny beach. This habit of hers also lends her skin that softness to the touch should your hand come to caress it, void of the harshness of salt and sun. The pale ice blue of her eyes is contrasted by the light of warmth that seem to always glow in them, save for when her temper darkens them momentarily and even when her lips does not, they seem to smile.
Her dress varies but is often kept quite simple, she has come to favour a simple shirt, perhaps in pale blue with black trousers or leather jeans. There is but one thing she wears always, without fail, a solid silver band around her neck. Fitting tightly to her skin as if molded to fit her alone and with no visible way of taking it off. On closer inspection it seems to have black markings, the language of a society all but gone and unlikely to be understood by any who see them save perhaps for one word written in common: Cythis.
-Personality: Elan, as she is known by some, is a kind woman with the rare quality of just wanting to help. Though she has a rather bad temper, especially if she (or one she cares for) has been treated in a way she feels unfairly, however trivial. This temper flares up quickly and strongly and it gives insight to a side of her that she most of the time tries hard to keep hidden and under control. She has some fighting ability, one to match her temper in fact, but it’s her compassion that defines her. She seeks to put some good back in to this world, as thanks for the freedom she was given by the sacrifice of her parents. She is not hard to make friends with and enjoys a laugh with new and old friends as well as well natured strangers. If her help is sought she is most likely to do all she can, and often more. Though she is sociable her conversational skills leaves some to be desired, though she has been known to talk herself out of several potential fights she can be quite easily embarrassed and when such her ability to make sense plummets. She is not likely to ask much about someone’s past, rarely more than enough for politeness, as she herself dislikes being asked about hers.
-Healing Powers: Though she had some powers of healing from her background in the monastery she was given the opportunity to greatly advance her powers thanks to the generous gift from her friend Farun. She still wishes to repay him for his unrivalled generosity but as he seems nowhere to be found she thanks him everytime she does the will of Ilmater, using the powers he granted her for whoever needs them.
-Background: She hesitates to speak of her background as it still weighs on her conscience, though she will if she trusts you. She was raised by nuns in a monastery as she was given there as an infant by her parents for reasons that was for long unknown to her, but she eventually found out that they were slaves and had wished her freedom. The only thing that she had from them, save the cloth and simple clothes she came in, was a small pendant in bronze of a dragon biting it's own leg. She wears this at all times around her neck on a thin leather string. Having been expected to remain and serve within the church in return for her upbringing it was an upset when she wished to break away from it to find her own way. She feels great guilt for her actions that day that, though it had not been her initial intention, had turned hostile and violent. She went in search of her parents only to find them dead.
She came to this strange place that she for now calls home on her travels and she has come to meet people of all kinds. Some friendly, many hostile and some indifferent. She is still learning much about the world around her and she often makes mistakes, the most frequent being trusting far too soon. Though this is a lesson she seems reluctant to learn. She seems to attract trouble though she is probably the last to seek it. She is starting to worry about the many creatures having approached her seeking to eat her and the question of what they all seem to want so much in her has arisen. She truly does not know but she is hoping to find out if there is one, and if so, what it is.
The two most important friends she has made are that of Angel Crawford and Masivyr. Angel, a bubbly girl a few years her junior has had a hard life and though she is always cheery and bouncy, and by far too blunt for her own good. After landing Elanorîn in an embarrassing situation with Masivyr she somehow became a close friend. Elanorîn admires her directness and enjoys her cheery mood. When she realised Angel lived pretty rough she took her in and they shared her room for a while. They became even better friends and Angel has become the closest Elanorîn has ever been to a family. She thinks of her as a sister and is fiercely protective of her. Something that showed clearly in her reaction to finding Angel devastated and suicidal after suffering the cruelty typical of shallow men so common in this world. Something, though long ago, Elan is unlikely ever to forget should her path ever cross that of Tai again. The shared room got a bit crowded and they saved up and through Angel’s excellent skills of persuasion they moved in to a rather nice apartment at the Hellion Apts. But the very night Angel was made to promise by Masivyr never to seek the power of vampirism she was attacked and turned against her will by one. After swearing to protect Angel to herself after the incident with Tai and promising Masivyr she would not allow Angel to turn as long as she had strength left, or indeed for any harm to come to her Elan took the change very hard, a failure on her own part. Especially as Angel, void of a responsible sire there to guide her with her new life she soon was losing control of her strength and blood lust and attacked Elan twice. A rift came between the ‘sisters’ that hurt Elan every bit as much as the heartache with Masivyr. In fact, her hope to reach through to Angel was all that kept her from giving up at that point, so ravaged inside by hurt by the two people she loved. The only two people who had ever been graced with her love, though she is not a person to hold back on love, quite the opposite, her travelling unsettled life has never been in one place long enough and she was unlikely to remain here either had it not been for the odd relationship that grew with Angel, she felt a need to stay and protect, make sure she was alright. And though this is what she almost always seemed to do, this case was different, it was the first one that needed her to stay put and therefore, without even considering it as a choice she found herself staying. She always followed where she was needed; it was her driving force, she seemed needed here. And staying in one place resulted in so many other things, such as not being able to walk away from Masivyr. After reconciling with Angel it became apparent Angel had to figure out what to do and the girl wanted to leave. She wanted to seek knowledge and control before she did any more damage to her beloved sister. Letting Angel go was one of the hardest things Elan had ever been faced with and the apartment has felt cold and empty since. Even though left alone in their apartment, she feels compelled to stay, she is still needed there by Angel, to be there, waiting for when she comes back, if she ever does.
Masivyr, however, is a whole different story. One that until you understand it fully, you cannot understand Elanorîn. She was awestruck by him from the first moment they met. A strong crush developing in an instant. She enjoyed his company, a man of few words and no questions; she was as comfortable in their silences as their brief conversations. Though she soon realised his regard for her would never involve any intimacy. She remained his good friend, treasuring his friendship highest, next to Angel’s, but her feelings had been allowed to grow past that crucial point, spurred on by repeated false hopes all rooted in the infamous talent of the two to misunderstand each other. She could not seem to rid herself of her feelings though not from lack of trying. In desperation she was even pushed beyond what she herself thought she was capable of just to ease the hurt of not being able to have who she loved and desired so passionately. Though her best friend, he was becoming the bane of her life, the very embodiment of all she wanted but could not have. But fate, it seemed, had mercy on her heart and a fire was kindled within him, feelings of the kind she felt. But it didn’t prove enough. Coming from worlds so far apart only one who can travel between planes may see them both, neither could be what the other needed. In a desperate attempt to ease the pain in her eyes Masivyr brought her Cythis. Who he is and how he came to finally ease her pain is a long and complicated story, known to very few and understood by perhaps just the three of them, if that. With her heart eventually safe in his possession, Cythis gave her the ability to be the friend to Masivyr she always wished to be. Though unknown to all, even herself, there is still a light in her eyes that is only reflected when they gaze deeply into those of sapphire.
