[continuing from the City Tavern thread]
Elanorîn emerged from the tavern out on the street outside, still with the grey mangy, cross-eyed cat in her arms, petting it a little now and then unless she wriggled free and escaped.
She shrugged with a smile to his thanking-nod.
"Then Brad it is. I'm Elanorîn." She shifted the cat slightly in her arms to liberate her right hand that was promplty reached out to him. With a slight chuckle she added. "Elvish. It's not supposed to be pronounceable without considerable effort."

Aylor wiggles free, and climbs up on Elanorîn's shoulder. She rubs her thin body against the woman's head and mews pitifully. She is still hungry, so get food already! She gives the man a false yellow cross-eyed glare, because she can.

He takes her hand and shakes it, his own grip fairly strong. He wasn't trying to hurt her, but it was a very confident handshake.
"No kidding. Mind if I call ya Elan? Easier on the tongue and all, doesn't cause me to hurt myself and all that happy stuff."

Elanorîn glanced up at the little cat as she climbed up on her shoulder. She was intending to find the little thing some food straight away.
She gave a slightly surprised smile at the firm handshake but returned it with one of her own and chuckled a little as she brought her other hand up to pet the cat.
"Go ahead. Most shorten it in one way or another. I have heard worse. Though I doubt you will have to make much use of it at all."
She turned around and began to walk down the street in a random direction as she didn't know the place. But she waited for him to follow, it was rude to just turn your back.

"Probably not, darling, but just in case we meet again. Anything can happen and all, right?"
Brad turns the corner and walks with her, smiling as his eyes scan the alleys, rooftops, and shadows. His hands rest on something underneath his coat.

Aylor meows. She wishes FOOD would happen. If it doesn't any time soon, she will hop off and try for herself. She is a cat after all... Pathetic humans. Only the sense that this particular human might come in handy makes her stay- for now. She gives the man another yellow glare. What is he so fussed about? Hm, he does look a bit like a rat. Maybe he's edible?

Elanorîn chuckled a little again at both the impatient cat and Brad. She would have shrugged had the cat not been on her shoulder. She petted it again to calm her.
"So they say. Well, alot can happen but not anything."
She looked up to the cat with a reassuring warm smile.
"I'll get you something to eat, Telquen."
Her pale blue eyes returned to Brad as she suddenly thought of something.
"You don't happen to know somewhere that might have something suitable for a cat?"

Brad mutters something under his breathe, grumbling about something or other. He seems to perk up when he hears Elan's question.
"Yeah, there's a few places. I can take ya to one, not too far from here."

Elanorîn glances at him as he mutters something she didn't quite catch. She decided not to ask, it wasn't her business.
"Sounds good. You know this place well then, I take it?"

"Yeah, I know the ins and outs of this here city."
He mutters something that sounds vaguely like: "and that city, and that city, and the other city and..."
"Anyways, I know the place pretty good. Been around and around and all that fun stuff. Why, first time here, darling?
Er, not flirting or anything with ya, darling, just old habits that don't die hard. They refuse to die. If I die, my habits will live on, I swear. Anyways..."

Elanorîn wasn't very sure where they were going but she followed him for now to hunt down some emergency cat food.
She laughed, a warm and clear laugh at his words.
"Quite the traveller, I gather from your talk. Yeah it's my first time here."
She smiled to him and raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't think you were flirting, you'd have to be as poor a flirt as me if that had been the case."
She laughed softly again at his comment on his habits. Sense of humour, that was for sure. She brought up a hand to play with the tail of the cat.

If cats could sigh, Aylor would be sighing. Well fine, alright, as long as food is forthcoming. HEY! She immediately pulls her tail up and bats a clawed paw at the woman's hand, though she makes very sure not to actually scratch- humans can be so touchy about those things. But still. The tail is a no-no. Darling. She gives the woman under her paws a glare. Getting uppity, who does she think she is?

Soft steps made no sound on the pavement of the dark street. A figure filtering in and out of the light of the streetlamps. Angel had just risen from the underground crypt she had stationed herself. Currently hunger was dictating to her emotions. Hmm lets see... Doesn't matter if the human is a innocent... ahh perfect!
She found two mortals speaking to each other in the street, a cat on the womans shoulder. Flowing into the shadows she watched for a mere moment and it hit her she knew the woman! Of course....
"You dare leave with a stranger... before saying words of greeting?"
This was spoken telepathically. but she was currentlly allowing Ellie to see her, to know she was there.

Elanorîn pulled back her hand quickly as it became very clear that the tail was not to be played with and quite possibly not to be touched in any way. She smiled, about to give another light chuckle when suddenly her expression faded, as if she had seen a ghost, and she stopped dead.
Hearing telepathy in her mind was not something she was terribly used to and if she wasn't expecting it she usually jumped, and so she would have this time if it had been any other voice than it was. Angel.
She turned around and saw the young woman she knew so very well. Almost the same instant she rushed up to Angel.
"Angel! Where-... What-... You just left. You were just gone. I have been so worried! Why did you just leave? Did something happen? Did someone- You said nothing. Not even a note. Are you alright?"
She was rambling, true to her usual self, as she came up to Angel. She stopped before her and looked her over, head to toe, several times as if expecting her to be hurt or show some sign of bad events. There seemed to be none and as Elanorîn finally looked up at those silvery eyes her shocked and relieved expression slowly gained a frown. Had she just left? On a whim. Like last time only without getting caught. Walked out of the door of their home with not so much as a word. Knowing how much she would worry. She didn't want to believe it, but Angel was changing so much. She was hard pushed to see the girl she had taken in from the streets. It wasn't so long ago but it felt like years now for all that had happened.

When the woman rushes over to the vampire chick lady person, Aylor's had enough. She does not appreciate her taxis making it hard for her to hang on. With a graceful hop (or at least, you had better admit that it is graceful...) she lands on the streets and gives a slightly cross-eyed glare at the woman's back. Some pet- it means well, but it just won't deliver.
Pensively, the cat starts licking her paw to wash behind her ears. Now what? Of course she could go out and hunt her own food. She does rather feel like rat. But she doesn't feel like a hunt at this precise moment. She feels like lying down on the street and rolling over, which she promptly does. After a few rolls, she licks her mouth and happily closes her eyes a few times. What to do, what to do... It would be ever so nice to be fed a juicy sardine or two.
In the end, Aylor decides that it is time to flirt a bit. Her kindest expression on her face, purring pleasantly, she rubs against the man's legs like the catty attention-craving slut she is.
