Elanorîn had been walking for hours, wide-eyed looking at all that was around her. This was proving a most interesting excursion. She had always loved travelling, going far and wide but she had never seen a city such as this. Her feet was beginning to hurt now and she stopped with a slight sigh and straightened her back a little. She looked around where she had come to stop and around a corner a little ahead she saw what was unmistakeably a Tavern!
"Heh! Fancy that!" She smiled widely and happily as she quickly crossed the street and made her way straight towards the building.
The moment before she pushed open the door to the Tavern she directed her gaze and an innocently mischievous smile to the skies.
"Thanks."
The tavern didn't seem that busy but she didn't mind. She had been known to have perfectly good evenings all by herself and a pint chatting away with the barman. As long as there were pints and a barman she'd be fine. She glanced around the room and her smile widened. There was both.
She headed straight to the bar.
"Cider, good man, cider." She beamed.

Aylor gives the woman a suspicious glance, and starts cleaning her whiskers while she considers the situation a moment. Then she stretches, barely dodges a patron's kick, gives him an indignified glare, and wanders over to the woman at the bar. She starts curling around the woman's legs, and meow pitifully.

Elanorîn was watching the barman pour her pint, it was nice and cold and she saw how the glass got all misty on the outside. Suddenly she could hear a kick and some grunting from one of the patrons behind her and she glanced over her shoulder to see a mangy looking cat giving him a glare. She gave him one herself. It's just a cat, what's his problem?
Her pale blue eyes watched the cat coming up to her and curl around her legs. Almost immediately she crouched down and tried to lift the cat up with a wide and warm smile.
"Heeyyy... what's the matter with you, eh? Picking arguments?"

A door slams closed somewhere in the tavern, and a man with a ratty face steps out from the kitchen, growling and shouting a few choice words at the cooks when he is pegged in the head by a frying pan. He brings his arms up to fend off the rest of the utensils and shakes a fist at the cooks.
"Alright, ALRIGHT! I got the message, I'm out of ya kitchen, stop throwing things at me you blasted burks."
Grumbling, Brad makes his way towards the bar stools, only to be pegged by one last cooking utensil. He sighs and rubs his head as he takes a seat.
"Give me something hard, and give it to me yesterday."

If cats could smile, Aylor would be beaming. A cat lover! Oh, yes. She lets herself be lifted up and starts purring like there is no tomorrow.

Elanorîn picks the cat up and holds the sweet little cat in her arms, cuddling it close while petting her on the head.
The pint of cider promptly arrives as a loud commotion can be heard from the back and a rather strange looking man comes from what she gathers were the kitchens judging from the various utensils that followed after him. Someone is having a bad day. She watched him with smiling eyes, a little amused as she continued to stroke the cat but he only held her attention for a minute before she remembered her pint and brought it up for a few large gulps.

Aylor settles in the lady's arms and enjoys the massage. Such a very accomodating human. She stretches her hand legs and curls her tail up, giving the man several sideways glances, her ears turned in his direction. Yes, this is pleasant... But she is hungry. She bats playfully at the pint.

"Here you go, Brad."
"Bought damn time! I swear, nothing's ever..."
Brad brings the drink to his lips and takes a massive pull from the mug. He promptly shuts up and grins.
"Hey, nice stuff man. This that new drink?"
The bartender nods, declining to respond. No money changes hands, and Brad happily continues to drink. At one point, he pulls out a small cellphone and presses the auto dial key. He waits a moment or two, drumming his fingers against the bar. Not long after, he smirks and speaks.
"Yeah, everything's fine. Ran into some idiots along the way, but we got the package ya wanted. Should be right where ya needed it, sir."
He pauses and licks his lips, his mug halfway to his mouth.
"Of course not! Why would I be at a bar?"

Elanorîn put the pint glass down after having emptied about a quarter off it. There was noting better than that first icy cold drink from the first pint. She sucked the taste off her lips and smiled at the little cat batting after the pint.
She listened with half an ear to the man who was now on the phone and while patting the cat she laughed softly to herself. She had never been able to affort one of those phones but if she had one she knew very well she most likely be saying the very same sentence herself right now.
She looked up to get the barman's attention, still smiling and petting the little creature.
"'Scuse me, could I have some milk on a saucer?"

The bartender grunts and grabs a saucer and some milk after some digging around and sets both in front of Elanorîn.
Brad continues his conversation.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I got ya. Yeah, I know. Yes sir. Uh huh. Right sir. Ok sir. Righto. Sure thing. Absolutely. What? Ok, fine, shutting up."
He seems to listen for awhile, and then nods. He rolls his eyes and slaps his hand to his forehead, remembering that the boss couldn't see him do that.
"Right. Catch ya later, boss." The phone makes a soft click as he closes it, and the moment he shoves the phone into his pocket is the moment he begins to curse. "Sodding phones. Just had to keep up with things, just had to switch from pools of water to fancy shmancy devices. They can take their price curbing and pike it..."
Grumbling, Brad empties the mug and slams it down hard.
"More!"

Aylor wiggles her way out of Elanorîn's arms and steps onto the bar. Her tail sways to and fro, and she sits down to lick the milk quickly and greedily, but ready to jump away. The hard lessons of the life of an alley cat.
After licking the milk some, she closes her eyes a few times to show her approval. This human may come in handy. Maybe she should keep it.

Elanorîn smiled as she watched the cat, stroking her back calmly while drinking some more herself. She glanced over to the man as he cursed widely with an amused smile. But she didn't say anything.
She scritched the cat behind the ear and took another large mouthful of her pint.
"What would be your name then, little one, hm?"

Larry was hungry. Hungry as a horse, though he didn't say it. He also was lazy, too lazy to cook, but active enough to walk to the opposite of the street, to fetch something to eat at Mike's. As he pushed open the door, the little windbells at the top ringed lazy. It was hot, 86F in the sun. The night gave little cooling, and the newly installed fan only helped barely. With a dreamy look, he stared in the gloomy tavern, judging all the people on the bar. There where few, but there where people. Especialy the man with the ratty face didn't suit him. Softly, he closed the door, only betrayed by the once again ringing of the bells. He almost slided to the bar, before sitting down at the worn leather barchair, gazing absently at the menu card on the wall. In a few moments, Mike walks toward Larry, while cleaning a glass with a towel.
"Young Overland! What might it be, my boy?"
Larry snapped out of his trance, and turned his head to Mike. As it started to come back, he smiled sheepish.
"Just a soup, thank you... noodle. It's too hot for anything else."
Mike nodded, and places the glass under the counter, before bowing over to Larry.
"your damn right, Overland. The damn electic fans don't help shit. And it was quite an investment. But I'll go get your soup"
With that, Mike turned around and hung the towel over his shoulder, marching to the kitchen whisteling a familiar tune. Larry, though, wasn't even listening anymore. He was trying to catch some of the last word that the ratty man spoke trough the phone, before hanging up.
"you should have invested that money in a 'no cellphones' sign"
With that, he turned to where the bartender was standing, but he was already gone. He sighed softly, and without his intention, his eyes turned to the man again, while he lent lazy on his elbow.

Aylor laps up her milk. One hear twitches into Elanorîn's direction, and then in Larry's. She makes a great show of yawning before she sits up straight and starts licking her mouth. That's better. Now if she could get some solid food...

Brad's eyes narrowed, a wicked smile spreading across his face.
"Wouldn't matter if he had. Now pike off."
He turns his attention back to his mug, happily taking in more of its contents. He sighs and leans back a bit, stretching. These people... never seemed to be any time to rest before some idiot gets it into their head to speak up, or interfere, or mess with things, or whatever.
Hells, but people are annoying.
Thinking, he pulls the cellphone out again and taps on it a few moments before putting it away once more. Too early to check.
